KRD

Chemical engineer

The engineer must then find the optimal solution with respect to acceptable volume holdup, column height and cost of construction.

 

Chemist

Chemists analyze samples taken from the plant. Such analysis can include chemical analysis or determination of physical properties. Sample analysis can include routine quality control on feedstock coming into the plant, intermediate and final products to ensure quality specifications are met. 

 

CPDIC

Reactor operator

Responds to system or unit abnormalities, diagnosing the cause, and recommending or taking corrective action. Notes malfunctions of equipment, instruments, or controls, and report these conditions to supervisors. Implements operational procedures such as those controlling start-up and shut-down activities.

 

PSLP

​Maintenance technician

Taking samples for routine and troubleshooting analysis and for performing routine and non-routine maintenance. Routine maintenance can include periodic inspections and replacement of worn catalyst, analyser reagents, various sensors, or mechanical parts. Non-routine maintenance can include investigating problems and then fixing them, such as leaks, failure to meet feed or product specifications, mechanical failures of valves, pumps, compressors, sensors, etc.

 

Management officer

A plant has office for administrative worker. There is also typically some office space for engineers, management or administration, and perhaps for receiving visitors
